Exploring through expression

Research on the life stories of former extremists and youth social activists highlights how their chosen paths diverge. Being unheard and excluded shaping the choices of former extremists while feeling heard and supported empowered youth activists to create positive change.

HUM engages youth and adults together to co-develop scenarios of “unheard moments,” creating opportunities to build understanding and unpack these experiences collectively. Through process-based, expressive techniques such as art, drama, storytelling, and video, these scenarios invite dialogue, critical thinking, and exploration of difficult conversations in constructive, creative ways.
